Dr. Pitcher Publishes 2 scientific articles

Congratulations to Dr. Pitcher who recently published 2 scientific articles.
These articles come from his research when completing his Masters of Science at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Dr. Pitcher's focus was primarily exercise and work physiology. His thesis research explored the physiology of muscle fatigue and investigated the reliability of measuring muscle output.
The article titled "Reliability of electromyographic and force measures during prone isometric back extension in subjects with and without low back pain" was published in the December 2007 Issue of
Journal of Sports Science and Medicine.
The other article titled "Neuromuscular fatigue during a modified Biering-Sørensen test in subjects with and without low back pain" was published in the February 2008 issue of the Journal of Applied Physiology, Nutrition and Metabolism. .
Dr. Joel Invited to Olympic Training Center

Local chiropractor, Dr. Joel Dekanich has recently been selected to work with the United States Olympic Committee medical staff at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. The two week appointment will begin July 21st as the athletes train and prepare for the summer Olympics in Beijing.
Dr. Dekanich who is the director of Vail Integrative Medical Group (VIMG) is a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians, an Emergency Medical Technician and a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. The group, which has offices in Vail, Edwards and Eagle is known for collaborative multidiscipline approaches in treating and preventing common spinal and sports injuries. As the founder, Dr. Dekanich was also recently featured nationally on the front cover of The American Chiropractor Magazine for VIMG's specialized treatments and vision.
We wish Dr. Dekanich the best of luck aiding the American Olympians to victory this August in Beijing.
